Posting Description

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS SPECIALIST 2, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), to join the largest department at the Institute, with over 1700 undergraduates and 300 MEng students enrolled in its Undergraduate Programs. Will advise on undergraduate academic and administrative matters; collaborate with faculty and advise students; and acts as a resource to students, faculty and staff on program and MIT requirements, with a special focus on progress towards degree, graduation, student status and records, student leaves and returns from leave, and other academic policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; a minimum of three years of academic administration experience; excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others at all levels; excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and attention to detail; ability to work independently as well as part of a team; ability to prioritize and problem solving; and experience interacting with complex databases, word-processing software, and content-management systems. PREFERRED: Master’s degree; and experience in higher education.

 

This position has a hybrid schedule that typically requires 3 days on campus and 2 days remote, though more on-site days may be needed some weeks. This schedule is subject to change.
