Clinical Research Position in Oral and Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery

Applicants are invited to apply for a 1-year full-time research position in pediatric craniofacial anomalies at the Clinic for Oral and Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, University Hospital Basel. The starting date is flexible, with an option to begin as early as 01.04.2025 or by mutual agreement.
Your position
You bring an interest in pediatric craniofacial anatomy, coupled with a strong affinity for 3D imaging analysis, including segmentation. In addition, the role involves expanding into the development of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) solutions for advanced 3D visualization.
The overarching goal of the project is to deepen our understanding of pediatric craniofacial anomalies, contributing to the refinement of morpho-functional treatment concepts.
If you meet the requirements for enrollment at the Medical Faculty, there is an opportunity to pursue a doctorate in medicine or dentistry, with full support for your academic journey (Link). The position is compensated in accordance with the doctoral position salary at the University of Basel.
Your tasks
- Analyze and segment medical imaging data, including landmark identification.
- Prepare visualizations of findings and develop educational materials.
- Evaluate and implement various VR solutions tailored for pediatric craniofacial anomalies.
Your profile
- You have completed your master’s degree in medicine and/or dentistry.
- You possess experience and a strong interest in 3D clinical image analysis.
- You have a passion for working with pediatric patients.
- You enjoy working in a dynamic multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
