Data Scientist
Tasks
- working in an EdTech startup environment
- collaborating with leaders, faculty, and support staff of the university (even talking with them)
- analyzing various types of data (survey, educational, app usage, natural language, etc.)
- maintain data pipelines
- develop machine learning and data analytical solutions
- taking part in all areas of data processing and analytics including data cleaning, data transformation, feature engineering, and statistics
- supporting research & development projects
Experience
- 2-5 years of experience
- Familiar with databases (we work with MySQL)
- Coding skills (we use and abuse Python)
- Understanding of main statistical concepts
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proactivity and the ability to work independently
- Work with us in the analog environment of the office (home office once or twice a week)
- Written and verbal English language skills (min. B2)
- Ideal candidate:
- Is a generalist
- Has a quantitative academic background (STEM, psychology, sociology, economics)
- Has a research and publication experience (maybe even started or completed a PhD)
- Has a wide range of interests
- Has worked with machine learning, especially with NLP
- Can think in complex systems
