Your Tasks
- You are responsible for the establishment and expansion of the research group for the topic area migration, internal border regimes, and bureaucracy at the Ilse Arlt Institute and promote profession-specific research and the development of methods and theories in Social Work
- You initiate and manage model research projects at the national and international levels, provide impulses for the topic area’s sustainable development, and support colleagues in their further development
- You are responsible for the expansion of the aforementioned research areas, e.g., through the acquisition of third-party funds
- You are dedicated to knowledge transfer and innovation and you engage in networking activities in the field of science, with political representatives, relevant stakeholders in public administration, and in civil society
- You take over subject-relevant courses and supervise final theses
Your offer to us
- Several years of research experience with qualitative methods in relevant areas such as migration research, border studies, and social politics as proven by a habilitation or doctorate with outstanding research work and publications
- Experience in the acquisition of national and international third-party funds, the design and management of national and international migration research projects, and the ability to lead interdisciplinary research groups
- Strong interest in theories and studies on material culture, Social Work, and the historical dimension of flight and migration
- Demonstrable experience in teaching and the supervision of final theses as well as in the co-design and/or co-development of new courses in the aforementioned research field
