The DLR Institute for Data Science in Jena focuses on finding solutions for the new challenges of the digital age. Research concentrates on the areas of data management, data analysis, and data acquisition. In line with the institute’s thematic focus, three departments have been established.

 

What to expect

The Process and Knowledge-Based Data Exploration group has the scientific objective of bridging the gap between process knowledge and data analysis to promote data-driven decision-making. Its methods include the seamless integration of domain and process knowledge into data exploration, particularly through time series analysis, the integration of physical models, and the development of image pattern recognition procedures.

  

Your tasks

  • conduct literature research on the topic of technology acceptance
  • support the preparation and execution of surveys and focus groups in a project on the acceptance of telemedicine applications in Thuringia
  • support the qualitative evaluation of focus group data
  • support the quantitative evaluation
  • document research findings

  

Your profile

  • studies in Psychology, Human Factors, or comparable (min. 4 successfully completed semesters)
  • good knowledge of statistical analysis with R or SPSS
  • knowledge of qualitative research methods (focus groups, interviews) and evaluation of qualitative data
  • quick comprehension with a goal-oriented and independent working style
  • very good German and English skills in spoken and written form
