The German Remote Sensing Data Center (DFD) is an institute of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) based in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich and Neustrelitz in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Together with the Remote Sensing Technology Institute (IMF) it forms the Earth Observation Center (EOC) – the center of competence for earth observation in Germany.
What to expect
The Geo-Risks and Civil Security department of the German Remote Sensing Data Center conducts research on innovative methods for assessing earth observation data in order to gain new insights and derive information. The focus is on environmental and natural disasters, humanitarian crises, geological risk research, civil security research, and societal challenges including global urbanization and migration.
