Our Mission and Values

The German Cancer Research Center (Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum, DKFZ) is Germany’s largest biomedical research institute and dedicated to research for a life without cancer. DKFZ scientists identify cancer risk factors, investigate how cancer progresses and develop new cancer prevention strategies. They are also developing new methods to diagnose tumors more precisely and treat cancer patients more successfully.

Our mission is to significantly decrease new cancer cases and cancer deaths through transformative research, education of the next generation of leaders and seamless transfer of our results into the health system, society, and innovative products.
