Réseau Francophone de Métabolomique et Fluxomique (RFMF)

The analysis of metabolism has experienced considerable growth since the emergence of global approaches to characterize metabolic behavior at the scale of a cell, tissue or an entire organism.

In this context, metabolomics represents the study of small molecules of life (metabolites) and completes, with genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics, different approaches to phenotyping living things or finely characterize metabolic mechanisms on a cellular or tissue scale. The areas of application are very broad and cover in particular health, nutrition, agriculture, sustainable development, biotechnology, the environment, pharmacology, etc.

Since 2005, the French Network of Metabolomics and Fluxomics has conducted many actions (scientific days, research schools, workshops, travel grants, directory of sites & skills, etc.) covering all the fields of application of metabolomics.

Since 2013, the RFMF has been affiliated with the International Metabolomics Society (http://metabolomicssociety.org).

In 2014, the RFMF set up a Junior RFMF for members under the age of 33. The mission of this session is to promote formal and informal exchanges between young researchers.

In 2015, the RFMF became the Francophone Network of Metabolism and Flux

The RFMF therefore represents a privileged observatory of the structuring and evolution of metabolomics and fluxomics at the French-speaking level.

The objective of this website is, on the one hand, to take stock of the metabolomic-flowsomic in France, based on the indicators that the RFMF has been able to establish through its various actions, and on the other hand, to provide the necessary information to support and strengthen the dynamics of structuring of the Francophone community in this field.
