Tampere Universities community comprises Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences. Together we are building a new model for higher education and research in Finland.
Tampere Universities came into being at the beginning of 2019 when the University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology were merged to create the new foundation-based Tampere University that maintains close collaboration with Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
We are committed to combining world-class research and innovation activities, promoting multidisciplinary learning and lifelong partnerships and generating unique expertise in developing applications that benefit industry, business and the public sector.

Tampere University
Tampere University is one of the most multidisciplinary universities in Finland. We bring together research and education in technology, health and society. The University is known for its excellence in teaching and research and it collaborates with hundreds of universities and organisations worldwide. Our community consists of about 22,500 students and around 4,200 staff members from more than 80 countries.
The University was created in 2019 through a merger between the University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology. Almost all internationally recognised fields of study are represented in our university, which has seven faculties:

- Faculty of Education and Culture
- Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences
- Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences
- Faculty of Management and Business
- Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology
- Faculty of Social Sciences
