Welcome2Villach: ÖSTERREICHS GRÖSSTER FORSCHUNGSREINRAUM - EIN MEILENSTEIN FÜR VILLACH ALS FORSCHUNGSSTANDORT

Silicon Austria Labs GmbH (SAL)

… is a research center for Electronic Based Systems located in Graz, Villach and Linz. In the network of science and industry, we carry out research at the highest global research level and thus create the basis for new types of products and processes. Electronic Based Systems (EBS) are components, assemblies and devices with microelectronics and nanoelectronics, as well as embedded software. They are the technological backbone of digitalization. With the Research Divisions Sensor Systems, RF Systems, Power Electronics, Integration Technologies and Embedded Systems, SAL is offering “key enabling technologies” for precisely these Electronic Based Systems and is laying the basis for smart products and processes that create the foundations for things such as Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things (IOT), autonomous driving, cyber-physical systems (CPS), AI, smart cities, smart energy and smart health. Research is carried out at both model level and hardware level (components, assemblies and devices with microelectronics and nanoelectronics) as well as the attendant embedded software level, in conjunction with the holistic knowledge of comprehensive system integration.

SAL is a great place to research where you can constantly develop yourself further. Whether you are a lateral thinker, pioneer, tinkerer or free thinker – if it’s a matter of innovation, creative ways to solutions are needed. Therefore, we accompany our researchers on the path from idea to innovation. SAL gives you the opportunity to shape key technologies of tomorrow in an international network at the linchpin of science and commerce. SAL enables you to achieve scientific excellence and work on pioneering projects with leading industrial companies at a place with a high quality of life and research.

Innovation is a top priority at Silicon Austria Labs. Our researchers are too. Start your success story at SAL. Unfold the future! Unfold yourself

UNFOLD THE FUTURE WITH ELECTRONIC-BASED SYSTEMS

Electronic based systems (EBS) are components, assemblies and devices with microelectronics and nanoelectronics, as well as embedded software. They are the technological backbone of digitization.

With the research areas Microsystems, Sensor Systems, Intelligent Wireless Systems, Power Electronics and Embedded Systems, SAL is offering “key enabling technologies” for precisely these electronic based systems and is laying the basis for smart products and processes that create the foundations for things such as Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things (IOT), autonomous driving, cyber-physical systems (CPS), AI, smart cities, smart energy and smart health.

Research is carried out at both model level and hardware level (components, assemblies and devices with microelectronics and nanoelectronics) as well as the attendant embedded software level, in conjunction with the holistic knowledge of comprehensive system integration.
