Mission
University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG) has around 2,300 students at its Graz and Oberschützen campuses and is an international university offering a wide range of courses in music and performing arts. Located at the heart of Europe, we build on the cultural heritage of our region while exploring current representations in contemporary arts. We respond to international developments in the arts, education and research and examine the meaning of art and culture in society. Our lecturers and students work in partnership in a shared process of discovery. We believe that gender, diversity and sustainability offer immense potential for the transformation of the arts and cultural sector, as well as for the continuing development of our institution.
