The Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) "DECisions in Infectious DisEases" (DECIDE) invites applications for
19 fully funded Ph.D. student and 9 fully funded postdoctoral positions
Our research focus:
The CRC DECIDE investigates key decisions that determine the outcome and severity of infections. These decisions are defined by a complex interplay of the pathogen with host barrier tissues and their commensal microbiota as well as local and systemic immune responses. We apply cutting-edge technologies (single-cell RNA-seq, complex human tissue and animal models) to investigate key decision in a broad range of highly relevant infections with human pathogens (viruses, bacteria, fungi). We are looking for:
Highly motivated candidates with a strong background in infection biology, bioinformatics, immunology, cell biology or related fields. Candidates for the PhD positions are expected to hold a master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and have excellent English skills in word and writing.

Cutting-edge expertise in all disciplines contributing to DECIDE, single-cell RNA-seq, advanced human and animal tissue model, enhanced through the support of core facilities in sequencing, bioinformatics, mass spectrometry and microscopy. Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers will be members of the Integrated Research and Training Group of the CRC (IRTG DECIDE), a structured graduate and post-graduate program including a state-of-the-art training program. Salaries are based on the German academic standards (TV-L E13, 65%).
