Student mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, or similar (f/m/x)

During your employment you will be working on a project that aims at assessing and improving the resilience of critical maritime infrastructure under the influence of disruptions (e.g. physical, cyber and human). The student assistant will assist in modelling various operations of these infrastructure and investigate the influence of disruptions on these models. Having accurate models in place will help in assessing the magnitude of the impact and in alleviating these risks.
We are looking for a person who will grow with us and will fit to our international, interdisciplinary team.

Your main activities are:

  • investigating and implementing modelling approaches for various operations in maritime infrastructures
  • modelling various disturbances/events and assessing the impact of them on maritime infrastructures

Working with DLR gives you a chance to apply and deepen your knowledge from your studies. We will further give you an opportunity to contribute your own ideas. There is a chance to work a certain percentage of time remotely and we can support you in writing a bachelor/master thesis along your work.

  • currently enrolled student in a university or in a university of applied science in a relevant field
  • knowledge in modelling dynamical systems
  • good MATLAB/Simulink skills
  • good Python skills is an advantage
  • verbal and written skills in English – A2 level or higher
