The focus of the DLR Institute for Data Science in Jena is to find solutions to the major challenges of the digitalisation age. Research here focuses on the areas of data extraction and mobilisation, data management and enrichment, and data analysis and intelligence.
In the working group "Information Extraction and Interoperability", we research and develop innovative and practical solutions for digitisation, especially for information exchange in heterogeneous environments. We cover topics and projects in all areas of DLR - space, aeronautics, transport, energy and security.
For us, one basis for interoperability is the use of semantic models. Since this is time-consuming to create, we are also working on methods for the (semi-)automatic enrichment of knowledge graphs, disambiguation, and topic modelling on ontologies. These topics will be covered by the position advertised here. You will work in an interdisciplinary team (computer science, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering) as well as in projects with colleagues across DLR and external partners.
