Electrical engineer, Mechanical engineer or similar (f/m/x)

2065

The position includes the following tasks:

  • conceptual development of generic and scalable simulation architectures for the safety argumentation for automated driving
  • transformation of modules of the simulation architectures on test facilities of the institute as well as conceptually on facilities of the institute's partners
  • methodical determination of parameter spaces and their variations in the simulation-based test procedure for optimised reduction of test spaces
  • leading the running of specific simulations to obtain a quantitative safety statement including assessment of the quality of the statement
  • transfer of modules of the simulation architectures into a consistent test architecture for the institute and coordination of the implementation
  • planning and coordination of the application of building blocks of simulation-based testing such as simulation blocks, field data or formally described scenarios on DLR test fields as well as linking to test fields of DLR cooperation partners
  • further development of safety verification and homologation architectures for simulation-based testing in cooperation with international partners from projects and standardisation
  • technical management of network formation to further strengthen and stabilise the coordination tasks carried out by DLR in the context of BMWK funding initiatives
  • completed scientific university studies (Master's degree / university diploma) in the natural sciences of engineering (e.g. specialising in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering) or other courses of study relevant to the job
  • proven special knowledge in the development and application of methods for simulation-based testing by means of completed implementation of generically described simulation procedures in simulation tools
  • several years of professional experience in transferring abstract verification procedures to concrete test scenarios and deriving valid safety statements from the simulation results
  • several years of professional experience in mapping abstract methods to concrete simulation and test scenarios using simulation and test tools such as OpenPASS or CARLA
  • proven scientific expertise in the field of simulation-based testing, e.g. through a successful dissertation or successful leadership of scientific expert groups
  • In-depth expertise in the above-mentioned subject areas
