Engineer Physics, Energy technology, Process engineering or similar (f/m/x)

For the supply of houses, quarters and areas with electricity and heat, the coupling of mobile hydrogen fuel cell systems and heat pumps. Thereby the energy demand coverage for buildings with different energy standards will be analyzed as well as the technical the technical feasibility, in particular for the efficient use of heat and the supply by local and district heating networks will be investigated and modeled. The underlying fuel cell systems scale from 100 kW to 1.5 MW, both electrically and thermally.

As part of the project, provide for the:

  • coupling of mobile generators for electricity and heat with infrastructures in urban environments
  • process engineering and optimization simulations for the design and technical mapping of the sector coupling between electricity, heat and mobility
  • modeling of heat pumps for coupling the systems with local and district heating networks
  • You have an above-average university degree (diploma /Master) in the field of physics, electrical engineering, engineering physics or process engineering.
  • Alternatively, other relevant courses of study such as mechanical engineering, or Computer Engineering with corresponding previous knowledge on the project topic are possible.
  • Programming skills in MatLab/SimuLink/Simscape or comparable software are required you already have.
  • You are familiar with programming with scientific software for the acquisition and evaluation of measurement and simulation data, ideally with automated procedures in Python familiar.
  • You have initial knowledge in the field of combined heat and power generation, ideally with fuel cell systems (mobile, stationary).
  • Very good knowledge of English (technical language) and good knowledge of German complete your profile.
  • First practical work experience in the field of combined heat and power with mobile or stationary fuel cell systems are an advantage.
  • At best, you have experience of the regulations "Good Scientific Practice".
  • Ideally you already have first experiences in the field of optimization simulations for the energetic mapping of consumers and generators in an urban environment.

Look forward to a fulfilling job with an employer who appreciates your commitment and supports your personal and professional development. Our unique infrastructure offers you a working environment in which you have unparalleled scope to develop your creative ideas and accomplish your professional objectives. Our human resources policy places great value on a healthy family and work-life-balance as well as equal opportunities for persons of all genders (f/m/x).Individuals with disabilities will be given preferential consideration in the event their qualifications are equivalent to those of other candidates.
