Student economics, engineering management or similar (f/m/x)

You are passionate about research and renewable energy? The project "Aerothermie" investigates the direct conversion of wind energy into heat. The Institute of Flight systems develops and operates a windthermal pilot plant to demonstrate the functionality of heat generation and storage. The pilot plant generates measurement data that we use to analyze the technical and economic potential of windthermal energy. This enables a techno-economic analysis (TEA) that compares windthermal energy with other heat generation technologies.

You will help our team with this mission:

  • determine key performance indicators to calculate the levelized cost of windthermal heat
  • develop a methodology to transfer lessons learned from the prototype to future commercial windthermal power plants
  • develop a TEA methodology for windthermal power plants
  • investigate similar technologies and compare them with windthermal energy, using the previously developed TEA methodology
  • currently enrolled student in the field of economics, engineering management, renewable energy, or a comparable discipline
  • basic knowledge of techno-economic analysis
  • experience in data preparation and tools like Python
  • high degree of initiative and pronounced willingness to work in a team
  • analytical way of thinking and high motivation to develop your own ideas
  • enthusiasm to contribute to a successful renewable energy transition
  • very good English skills, both in written and spoken language, German is a plus

Look forward to a fulfilling job with an employer who appreciates your commitment and supports your personal and professional development. Our unique infrastructure offers you a working environment in which you have unparalleled scope to develop your creative ideas and accomplish your professional objectives. Our human resources policy places great value on a healthy family and work-life-balance as well as equal opportunities for persons of all genders (f/m/x).Individuals with disabilities will be given preferential consideration in the event their qualifications are equivalent to those of other candidates.
