Master Student Electrical Engineering, Physics, Information Technology or similar (f/m/x)

The successful applicant will support our team in the development of digital signal processing systems for free-space optical communication. The main focus of the work will be to design the hardware-software interface of a free-space optical communication system to enable logging and visualization of high-speed data streams as well as system configuration.  

It is an excellent opportunity to work in a cutting-edge topic, gain experience on the interplay between software and FPGA based hardware development, and improve your professional skills.

Your tasks:

  • analysis and conception of HW/SW interfaces
  • implementation and verification of FPGA blocks
  • low level software implementation

Your qualifications:

  • study direction of embedded systems, computer science, electrical engineering or similar
  • good knowledge in the area of FPGA/SoC
  • RTL design, preferably with VHDL
  • experience writing low level code, preferably with C
  • knowledge of communication protocols
