The Europa-Universität Flensburg seeks to fill the following position as soon as possible:

 

Professor (W3) of Quantitative Methods in Empirical Social Research 

and the Analysis of Social Structures

 

We are looking for an internationally distinguished and well-networked person who has relevant academic qualifications

and teaching experiencein quantitative methods and statistics and in internationally comparative analysis of social structures.

Special emphasis will be given to outstanding scholarly publications in the aforementioned fields. A research focus on comparative social structure

analysis in education/educational inequality, migration and/or social inequality is required.

 

In particular, this professorship is responsible for courses for the university’s educational sciences and social sciences/social change BA programs, as well

as for its European studies and economics study programs. Courses are taught in German and English.  Other duties include participation in the university’s

academic self-governing bodies, interdisciplinary cooperation in research and teaching, and participation in one of the EUF's signature research centers.

 

Prerequisites include a relevant doctorate in the social sciences and additional academic achievements in the field of empirical social research and social

structure analysis, as obtained through a postdoctoral lecturing qualification (Habilitation), a positively evaluated junior professorship, orequivalent

academic achievements.  Internationally visible scholarly publications and experience in third-party fundraising are also required.

Articles 61-63 of the Higher Education Act of the German federal state of Schleswig-Holstein shall further apply.
