We are looking for a health economist with proven expertise in economic evaluation to join the team in Health Economics and Financing at Heidelberg Institute of Global Health (HIGH), the University Hospital, University of Heidelberg. The selected candidate will work within the framework of an EU-funded project which aims to develop, evaluate and disseminate strategies for the implementation and scaling-up of cost-effective mental health promotion and prevention strategies with different vulnerable populations in Europe. The economic evaluation will be conducted alongside five different large-scale implementation trials and one implementation study to be carried out within the framework of the aforementioned EU-funded project.
The project is run in collaboration with a large team of researchers located across nine different European countries. Hence, while the selected candidate will work most closely both with Dr Hoa Thi Nguyen, the senior researcher in charge of the project, and Prof. Manuela De Allegri, the PI located at HIGH, this person will also need to communicate with the broader research team and respond to the expectations of the overall project PI located in Copenhagen.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to pursue a doctorate in Global Health with focus on Health Economics while employed on this position.
The appointment is for three years, starting as soon as possible, and with the possibility to extend the contract beyond the initial three years. A probation period of six months applies to all public sector employs.

Conditions
The position is funded for three years at the German public service salary scale, equivalent to TVL 13/1. This amount reflects the standard engagement of a doctoral student and is equivalent (or in fact superior) to what a doctoral fellowship would pay.
The position is open to applicants from all countries. The position is based in Heidelberg (relocation is encouraged), with visits to the other participating countries. Starting date is asap. Recruitment continues until we fulfil the positon.
