The Department of Law and Economics at the Technische Universita?t Darmstadt seeks candidates for an
Assistant Professorship (W2 tenure track) in Business Administration: Management Science/Operations Research
The future holder of the position is responsible for research and teaching in the field of Management Science/Operations Research.
The successful candidate will focus on modelling and solving management decision problems. The department expects the future holder of the position to contribute to the research cluster “Logistics and Supply Chain Management“. Contributions to the other two research clusters of the department “Innovation and Growth“ and “Digital Transformation“ are also welcome. The candidate should participate in interdisciplinary research areas at Technische Universita?t Darmstadt and apply for external research funding.
The position contributes to the basic education of students in the field of Business Administration, in particular to the Degree Programs Business Administration/Industrial Engineering, Business Information Systems and Business Mathematics as well as to the department’s new master program Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Candidates should be prepared to teach mainly in English.
Required qualifications include an outstanding research record evidenced by a PhD degree and publications in top-tier journals. In addition, candidates are expected to have an excellent record of academic teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level. The candidate should have an international focus.
The Assistant Professorship is designed as Qualification Professorship as per § 64 HHG. Regulations on the maximum period of scientific activities after the acquisition of the PhD degree as well as all additional requirements for employment are subject to § 64 HHG in the respective current version. Remuneration follows the German W-Besoldung at level W2 Hessisches Besoldungsgesetz. The position is initially limited to six years. For the position, the option for a tenured professorship after a successful tenure procedure is given.
