To provide – future scientific leaders in epigenetics with the best training – the Helmholtz epigenetics@HMGU community and the epigenetics research laboratories from the University of Edinburgh, the Wellcome Trust Centre for Cell Biology, MRC Human Genetics Unit, and Centre for Regenerative Medicine launched their collaborative PhD training program in : International Helmholtz-Edinburgh Research School for Epigenetics. EpiCrossBorders receives its funding from Helmholtz Zentrum München, the Initiative and Networking Fund from Helmholtz Association, and the partners from Edinburgh.
EpiCrossBorders is an international and interdisciplinary PhD training program centered on epigenetics research at the Helmholtz Zentrum München in Munich, Germany, and the University of Edinburgh, UK. PhD projects in EpiCrossBorders are located at the Helmholtz Zentrum München and include a six to twelve month stay in collaborating Edinburgh labs. They are funded three-year projects.
EpiCrossBorders not only combine their scientific expertise, but includes also in an adjustable training program that covers your personalbridges and offers a dedicated . Through our program we aim to provide our students with the tools they need to achieve major discoveries, to prosper and forge their own future careers as experts in the field of or inspired by epigenetics.
EpiCrossBorders is a platform open to use existing and developing new collaborations between its two research hubs. With joined forces these research centers increase their scientific potential, visibility, outreach, and impact. Furthermore, it teaches active networking, which is the basis of a successful career.
