Digitalization and artificial intelligence have far-reaching effects not only on the economy, society, and politics, but also on individual and interpersonal experience and behavior. They are changing human consumer behavior, social interaction, and how people experience them subjectively. Digitalization has a major impact on our education system and how learning will be shaped in the future.
The planned professorship will focus on the psychological aspects of digitalization, how people perceive digitalization, how they deal with the increasing digitalization of processes, and how digitalization can be designed to meet people's needs. Possible research topics of the professorship can be in one of the following four areas of digital psychology: human-computer Interaction (e.g., user/player experience, software usability), digital transformation of decision-making behavior (e.g., digital decision aids), online communication (e.g., social media) or digital education (e.g., individualized learning, gamification). With a focus on digitalization in psychology, the planned professorship will establish their own research program and create numerous points of contact within the faculty, university, and regional units or businesses.
We are looking for a person who can establish and further develop psychological research and teaching in the field of digitalization. Candidates will have extensive research experience in one or more of the areas of digital psychology outlined above, an excellent track record in international publications, and experience in acquiring competitive third-party funding. Candidates will also have successfully taught university courses at Bachelor and/or Master level. The professorship Digital Lives should offer the Faculty of Psychology development opportunities in research and teaching and open up access to an attractive research and job market for students and graduates.
