Our Center for Low-Emission Transport is looking for new Ingenious Partner for our location in Vienna.  At the Center for Low-Emission Transport around 150 experts are working on solutions for sustainable, safe, intelligent, and thus future proof mobility.  

  

As part of our interdisciplinary Competence Unit Electric Vehicle Technologies, you will work throughout your PhD project in European funded projects, contributing to the development of next generation battery management systems for electric vehicles. The European projects BATSS and BATTERY2LIFE will start beginning of 2024 and deal with next generation BMS and 2nd Life BMS for electric vehicles.

PHD THESIS “ADVANCED BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM COMMUNICATION“


CENTER FOR LOW-EMISSION TRANSPORT

  • As part of this PhD thesis, you will deal intensively with the topic of Battery Management System (BMS) Communication technologies and topologies including wireless and therefore, carry out literature research on BMS communication.
  • Under the guidance of our team, you will develop Hardware and Software communication interfaces for BMS.
  • You will test and evaluate different approaches in our modern laboratory.
  • You simulate electrical circuits and optimise the electronics regarding costs, safety, and reliability.
  • Based on your results, you formulate conclusions and recommendations.
  • You will have the opportunity to get a training in scientific work and to develop both personally and professionally.
  • You will engage in independent scientific planning, execution and evaluation of studies, scientific preparation of results and summaries for documentation and presentation.
  • Your innovative results will contribute to the success of our research projects in the field of battery management systems.


Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:


  • Master’s studies in the field of electrical engineering, informatics or relevant
  • Good knowledge in battery management systems and data communication methods
  • Excellent proficiency in relevant tools (COMSOL Multiphysics, MATLAB)
  • Good programming skills in C, MATLAB..
  • Interested in the conception of scientific studies
  • High level of commitment and team spirit
  • Analytical thinking and enthusiasm for highly innovative research
  • Very good communication and team working skills in German and English



What to expect: 


EUR 34.507,-- gross per year, for 30 h / week based on the collective agreement. In addition to numerous events, seminars and networking opportunities, there will be additional company benefits.
