- Design and construction of magnetic (micro) positioning system testing equipment
- Magnetic sensor system design, fabrication and test
- Python interface and package development
- Research and development with magnetic position systems.
- Lead magnetic position system testing equipment fabrication and development at SAL
- Collaborate with all other functional teams and research units in the organization to implement co-designed and co-optimized magnetic systems.
- Scientific report, documentation, generating new intellectual property

YOUR PROFILE
- MSc or PhD degree in physics, engineering or related
- Experimentalist (precision testing equipment, (micro) position systems, possibly microfabrication and microsystems)
- Magnetism (magnetic sensor systems, magnetic sensors, magnetic materials),
- Python programming experience, (scientific, package development, object oriented programming, git),
- Embedded systems design (uC programming, sensors, hardware communication, …)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Must have a strong motivation and interest to work in applied research and to bring novel magnetic technologies into industrial applications, to design and construct magnetic precision testing equipment, to work with magnetic position systems and related Python package development.

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group E.
We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your experience and qualifications. For this position, your monthly salary starts with EUR € 3.274,- paid 14 times a year (for 38,5h/week).
