At the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, a

W3 Professorship for Business Informatics, esp. E-Commerce and Digital Business

is to be filled from the summer semester 2023.

We are looking to appoint an internationally established academic (m/f/o) with a research focus on information systems for e-commerce and digital business. The implementation, configuration, further development, and quantitative-methodical analysis of these information systems should be the main topics for teaching and research.

The professorship is intended to present the subject Business Information Systems in its entirety to students in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes; in the focus area and in the doctoral programme, teaching should focus on e-commerce and digital business. The candidate must be able to teach courses in German as well as in English.

The candidate should have demonstrated academic excellence through successful publications in relevant international peer-reviewed journals. Successful acquisition of competitive third-party funding as well as leadership skills and experience in the (co-)supervision of doctoral candidates and junior faculty are expected.

Furthermore, cooperation with other disciplines, orientation towards the research priorities of the Faculty and Friedrich Schiller University Jena (http://www.uni-jena.de/en/research), contribution to the digitalization strategy of the Faculty, relationship management with local IT companies, as well as an active participation in the academic self-administration are expected.

In order to be eligible for the position, candidates must have a relevant university degree, pedagogical aptitude, a doctorate and a Habilitation or equivalent achievements in the subject area. If the successful candidate meets the legal requirements, they will be appointed as civil servant permanently. Non-German speaking candidates are expected to acquire German language proficiency within two years.
