Research Data Management for Life Cycle Assessment
What to expect:
The focus of the DLR Institute for Data Science in Jena is to find solutions for the major challenges of the digitalisation age. The research focuses on the areas of data extraction and mobilisation, data management and preparation, and data analysis and intelligence.
The Working Group “Metadata Management” addresses topics in the area of semantic descriptions of data, development of ontologies and semantically enhanced systems. These topics are addressed in both DLR-internal as well third-party-funded projects.
The advertised position is in the context of life cycle assessment. It is part of several activities and projects to establish a modern and FAIR research data management in this domain.
Your task is the semantic enrichment of life cycle inventories – the underlying database of life cycles assessments. In collaboration with our partners, you develop suitable vocabularies and data models to describe life cycle inventory data in a FAIR way. Further, you establish a data repository to manage maintain life cycle inventories. You will make a significant contribution to life cycle assessments and by extension a sustainable future!
