The Helmholtz Centre Potsdam - GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences is the national centre for research into the geosphere. Postdoctoral researcher (f_m_x) - Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment

Numerical simulations are increasingly used to predict the seismic vibrations generated by earthquakes. The aim of this postdoctoral fellowship will be to develop and/or test methods for quantifying the epistemic uncertainties of modern seismic motion simulation methods in order to integrate them into a probabilistic assessment of seismic hazard. This subject is well suited to a researcher with experience of this type of subject and wishing to spend a year in our team.

Salary: The position is classed as salary group 13 according to “TVöD Bund (Tarifgebiet Ost)”. The salary group is determined on the basis of the Collective Wage Agreement and the respective personal qualifications.
Working hours: Full-time (currently 39 h/week); The position is generally suitable for part-time work.
