Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship within the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University. The successful candidate will be affiliated and work within the renowned Noise and Vibration Research Group of KU Leuven.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be part of the PARADIGM project aiming at designing and testing novel mechanical and acoustic metamaterial designs. The project is funded directly by a prestigious FWO grant.


Profile

The successful candidate will have a strong background and publication track record in one or more of the following fields: Metamaterials, Structural Design and Optimization, Ultrasound and Vibration, Composite Structures, 3D Printed Structures, Machine Learning.


This funding call is open to all EU and International applicants. Candidates should have a PhD in a related field. 


Offer

The successful candidate will be offered a contract of 3 years as a post-doctoral researcher, along with a membership of KU Leuven, one of the largest, top-ranking research universities of Europe. She/he will also be offered the possibility to take part in international conferences and collaborations and to become a multidisciplinary researcher.
