The Clinical Neuroimmunology Laboratory at the Department of Biomedicine, University Hospital and University of Basel, under the guidance of Prof Jens Kuhle opens a new position for an investigator at the interface of clinical neurology and translational medicine. The laboratory is leading the Swiss MS Cohort, a Swiss wide cohort study including a large body fluid biobank, and comprehensive clinical and MRI data of Swiss MS patients. The incumbent will benefit from opportunities to interact with the three other groups of the Clinical Neuroimmunology Laboratory and with an established international network of external collaborators.
Your position
We are seeking a physician-scientist to develop a program focused on fluid biomarkers in neuro-immunology, with special emphasis on multiple sclerosis.
Your profile
The candidate must have an MD or PhD with extensive experience in biomarker research, as well as a strong publication record demonstrating the ability to design innovative research with the aim of clinical application. Knowledge of clinical neurology or a PhD in a field relevant to the position is an upside.
We offer you
The position entails a fixed three-year appointment. Pending a successful review process, the position can be extended. Salary is commensurate with experience and accomplishments along the regulations of the University of Basel and the University Hospital Basel. The incumbent has the option for 10-20% clinical activity.
