Work environment, missions and activities
You will be welcomed in the MICALIS unit (Microbiologie de l'Alimentation au service de la Santé; UMR INRAE-AgroParisTech, https://www.micalis.fr/), located on the INRAE Jouy-en-Josas campus (near Versailles/Massy; RER station 800m away, bus stop in the immediate vicinity). You will be part of the Phylogeny and Physiology of the Human Microbiome team (PhylHom; https://phylhom.micalis.en/), which gathers approx ten people (2 researchers, 1 technician, 1 postdoc, 3 PhDs, 2 M2s). The team studies the microbiota of healthy adults, children and patients suffering from pathologies (inflammatory diseases in particular), as well as the impact of certain xenobiotics or drugs on this microbiota and the bacteria that make it up.
You will be working as an Assistant Engineer on a project aimed at better understanding the role of this microbiota and certain intestinal bacteria in human health, the link with diet and, in particular, the impact of inflammation or anti-cancer treatments on these microbiomes.
Recruitment is for 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
You will be in charge of:
- Human samples aliquoting from various clinical studies in L2 laboratory.
- Molecular biology techniques: nucleic acid extractions for sequencing from diverse samples (stool, saliva, biopsies, etc.) according to established protocols, PCR, RT-PCR, quantitative PCR.
- Sample quality control and nucleic acid assay.
- Preparation of sequencing libraries
- Formatting of results associated with experiments carried out.
Please note that the MICALIS Institute is a Restricted Access Unit (ZRR). The candidate must be approved by the SGDSN (General Secretariat for Defense and National Security).
