Ph.D. Student Position: UNDERSTANDING ROOT STEM CELL DEVELOPMENT AND PERFORMANCE UNDER CHANGING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

A Ph.D. student position is available to study the effect of cold and salt in stem cell formation, regeneration and aging in the Arabidopsis root using various approaches such single cell RNA sequencing as well as other molecular, genetic, microscopy approaches followed by computer simulations. The goal of the research is the identification and characterization of novel regulation and gene regulatory networks defining the specification and functional capabilities of stem cells when exposed to disparate environmental conditions.
Applicants are expected to have an outstanding academic record and genuine interest in science. Having a master in life sciences is compulsory. Previous research experience will be considered. The position will be funded for a maximum of 4 years.
