Research Associate (Ayudante de Investigación de la Comunidad de Madrid) Position: APPLIED ROOT BIOTECHNOLOGY

A Research Associate (Ayudante de Investigación de la Comunidad de Madrid) position is available to perform applied root biotechnology aimed to:
1) increase productivity in response to cold and salt and
2) sequester atmospheric CO2 to palliate climate change.
The Research Associate will learn cutting-edge multidisciplinary biotechnologies to identify biomarkers and generate gene variants. These technologies include the generation of protoplasts and their analysis by flow cytometry and confocal laser microscopy, single-cell-RNA-sequencing (scRNAseq) and derived computational analysis, as well as genome editing using CRISPR/Cas9 of model plants (Arabidopsis) and crops (poplar).
Applicants are expected to have an outstanding academic record and genuine interest in science. Having a master in life sciences is compulsory. Previous research experience will be considered. The position will be funded for a maximum of 2 years.
