Postdoctoral Associate
Job Description
POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, MIT Energy Initiative (MITEI), to assume a position in techno-economic analysis (TEA) and life cycle analysis (LCA). Will work for MITEI’s TEA analysis group on multiple projects of low-carbon fuel production, industrial decarbonization, biomass conversion, and lab-scale experimental scale-up. The position offers an opportunity to interact and work closely with researchers at MITEI’s Future Energy Systems Center.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Ph.D. in chemical or mechanical engineering or a subject pertinent to the research area; expertise and a relevant track record in chemical process modeling (using Aspen software), techno-economic assessment (cash flow analysis), life cycle assessment (GREET or other LCA software), and supply chain analysis; ability to present research results in meetings and workshops, prepare quarterly progress reports, and publish papers at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals; excellent communication skills; ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize work, and meet deadlines; and spoken and written English language fluency. PREFERRED: demonstrated knowledge of using commercial process modeling software such as Aspen Plus, programming languages such as MATLAB or Python is preferred. Job #23618
