The Leibniz-Institut für Kristallzüchtung (IKZ) is a leading research institution in the area of science & technology as well as service & transfer of crystalline materials. Our goal is to enable solutions for urgent societal challenges (e.g. communication, artificial intelligence, climate protection, health etc.) by modern electronic & photonic technologies. The work covers the full spectrum from basic over applied research up to pre-industrial development and is performed in collaboration with national and international partners from university, academy and industry. The institute is part of Forschungsverbund Berlin (https://www.fv-berlin.de/) and a member of the Leibniz Association https://www.leibniz-gemeinschaft.de. These data will be implemented into an existing software and support the ZLM researchers in their choice of suitable mirrors for planned laser experiments.

We offer state-of-the art equipped laboratories, a dedicated team and a friendly and productive working environment.

 Your tasks

  • Transmission measurements using a state-of-the-art spectrophotometer
  • Basic processing of the acquired data and implementation into a software

  • ·   Communication of your results and participation in group meetings

Your profile

  • Student of physics, chemistry or a related topic
  • Interest in working in scientific laboratories
  • Organized and reliable working style
  • Reliable fixed dates for working (advance booking of devices is required)
  • Ability to communicate in English language in an international group
  • Programming skills are not required

The position is limited to the end of the summer semester 2024, an extension is planned depending on the availability of the candidate.
