The research group "Integrated Satellite Systems" is part of the Satellite Networks department and deals with the design and development of new concepts for satellite-based secure communication systems and their integration with other systems in an application-oriented approach. In particular, the systems under consideration cover the entire application spectrum of satellite communication in the context of the integration of non-terrestrial networks (NTN) in 5G/6G networks, e.g. mobile and broadband satellite systems, systems for commercial or sovereign applications, IoT and edge computing applications.
In the "Integrated Satellite Systems" group, you will be responsible for the development of complex protocols and algorithms for integrated 5G/6G satellite communications (especially LEO satellites), with a focus on protocol security for 3GPP NG-RAN, DVB, and higher protocol layers (e.g., TCP, IP, QUIC, http, etc.).
Ideally, you have extensive knowledge and experience in protocol design, for the development of protocols and algorithms in C++, among others, for the specific application areas of satellite communications and mobile communications (i.e. 5G RAN and 5G architecture everywhere).
The tasks essentially include:
Our offer to you: the opportunity to work on innovative research projects with state-of-the-art technology in an ambitious international environment. Flexible working hours are part of our offer to you, including an individual agreement for mobile working.
