Our Center for Low-Emission Transport is looking for new Ingenious Partner for our location in Vienna. Our experts from the Center for Low-Emission Transport develop innovations for efficient, intelligent and safe vehicle components, leading the way in bringing sustainable mobility in our daily life.  


To achieve this goal, our colleagues from the research field High Efficiency Power Electronics are working on the development, prototyping and testing of power electronic components for transportation applications, focusing on efficiency, power density, reliability and safety.



RESEARCH ENGINEER (M/F/D) FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE POWER ELECTRONICS

CENTER FOR LOW-EMISSION TRANSPORT

  • As part of our highly motivated team of international experts, you will work in our modern research and testing laboratories and will develop innovative power conversion solutions, technologies and electronic components for future electric vehicles.
  • Specifically, you will apply your expertise as a power electronics developer for topology and component selection, circuit design, and hardware/software implementation.
  • You will develop and integrate hardware / software for traction inverters, onboard chargers, battery management systems, as well as DC/DC converters, and commission them.
  • You engage in programming control algorithms for the operation of electrical machines and test them on our own test benches.
  • You simulate electrical circuits and optimise power electronics in terms of efficiency, power density, and reliability.
  • You give input for new strategic research ideas, that will contribute to the growth of our unit’s research project portfolio.
  • You can write impactful scientific publications and present them at national and international conferences.
  • You contribute to the development of novel methods and prototypes for our industry partners and help therefore to design better, faster, and sustainable products.
  • Your innovative results and customer-oriented approach will contribute to the success of our current research projects and support our industry partners to roll out their new products to the market.


Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:


  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, technical physics and/or in mechanical engineering
  • Profound knowledge in power electronics and electric drive control
  • Several years of work experience ideally in the context of electric vehicles
  • Experience in independently managing (research) projects
  • Excellent proficiency in relevant tools (MATLAB, C++, Python, EAGLE, VHDL, PSIM, LTSpice, CATIA, Modelsim, etc.)
  • Hands-on mentality and a passion for creating sustainable technical solutions.
  • Analytical thinking and enthusiasm for highly innovative research
  • Very good communication and team working skills in German and English



What to expect:

The minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38,5 h / week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 64.316,--. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
