Our Center for Digital Safety & Security is looking for new Ingenious Partner for our location in Vienna. Our experts from the Center for Digital Safety & Security are developing state-of-the-art information and communication technologies to ensure that our systems are highly secure and reliable in the context of comprehensive digitalisation and global networking – Hereby we focus on a variety of key technologies like Distributed IT Systems, Internet of Things, IoT, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain Technologies, Quantum & Photonic Technologies, Wireless Systems (6G) and Digital solutions for crisis & disaster management. 

  

Our Cyber Security Research Field, part of the Competence Unit "Security and Communication Technologies", specialises in applied research for digital security and is a pioneer in developing highly innovative concepts, algorithms and systems for anomaly detection, cyber threat intelligence, penetration testing and cryptography. Through our groundbreaking technologies we are simulating modern ICT and OT infrastructures as well as cyber-attacks, which serve as a basis for conducting cyber exercises with the aim of helping companies to increase the resilience of their critical infrastructure and protect their assets as best as possible.



RESEARCH ENGINEER (M/F/D) FOR DEVOPS IN CYBER SECURITY (PART-TIME / FULL-TIME)

CENTER FOR DIGITAL SAFETY & SECURITY

  • As part of our highly motivated, interdisciplinary team, you will take on the role of a full stack developer and will be responsible for the further development of the cyber range.
  • You will use modern software development methodologies while applying agile approaches and will use a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.
  • You will work on the technical implementation and will creatively design software solutions.
  • Thanks to your expertise you will ensure that you make continuous progress in the realisation of cyber exercise scenarios.
  • You will contribute to novel solutions, which will also be published open source on GitHub in many cases and used by the security community.
  • You provide innovative solutions, which allow us to master the current challenges of designing realistic cyber security scenarios.
  • You make a significant contribution to warding off or preventing the acute threat of targeted hacker attacks.
  • In our testbed you will deploy vulnerable systems and develop exploits for testing purposes and mining logdata.
  • By regularly exchanging ideas with European cooperation partners and security authorities, you will become a recognised contact person and thus continue building up your network over the course of multi-year research projects.

Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:

  • Completed studies (at least bachelor's degree) in the field of computer science or an equivalent qualification
  • Several years of experience in the DevOps field, and preferably previous experience in virtualised infrastructures and container solutions
  • Good knowledge of current web technologies and programming skills in common programming languages as well as scripting languages
  • Know-how in IT infrastructures, Linux, Windows, networking, hacking tools, web and developer tools
  • Interest in new technologies and high affinity for IT security - OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Packer, Terraform ...
  • Ability to work in a team, high commitment, interest, and willingness to learn new technologies
  • Good German language skills (B2, C1), good English language skills



What to expect:

The minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38,5 h / week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 57.890,--. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
